Our most popular yarn is so soft with wonderful drape and subtle glitz. It is especially beautiful in shawl, drapey garments and woven scarves.

There was a huge price increase on our last order from the mill. This makes it not feasible to stock all of our colorways, so we have decided to offer all of our colorways and dye them to order. In most cases, we will dye your colors the same or the next day. In the event there is a delay, we will notify you. Rinsing and drying takes 3 days.

Blue Heron Yarns was formed in 1995 as a collaboration between Demian Savits and his mom, Barbara Stone. Our mission is to provide the finest quality knitting, crocheting and weaving yarns in the most amazing colorways. Each batch of yarn is meticulously hand-painted in an art studio setting. We hope you will become a fan of our product. Most of our yarns are made in the United States. We purchase no yarns from China. Our yarns are all dyed in water so you can also wash them in water. We do not recommend dry cleaning any of our yarns.

Hand wash

Place your garment in a bowl of lukewarm water with a small amount of pH-neutral soap like Dove Clear or Ivory if washing.

If there is any bleeding add a bit of vinegar.

Make sure your garment is totally wet and let it sit for a few minutes.

You may add a bit of fabric softener to the last rinse.

Squeeze the excess water out, roll in a large towel and press, or spin out in the machine.

Lay it out on a dry towel and block into the shape you want leaving it until completely dry.
